A Welcome from Jonathan

Life moves fast, and it rarely asks permission. Most of us are tired in a way that a good night’s sleep doesn’t fix. We’ve found something else here: the unhurried life Jesus offers — a way of living steady enough to move through a hurried world without being ruled by it.

People sometimes ask what we’re actually trying to do here, across three such different churches. The honest answer is simpler than it sounds. We want to become like Jesus.

Not better versions of ourselves. Not a tidier life. An apprentice learns by staying close to the master, watching how he works, slowly taking on his instincts. That’s what faith is, more than a set of beliefs to sign up to. It’s a lifetime of staying close to Jesus and letting him reshape how we love, how we spend our time, how we treat the people we’d rather ignore.

None of this is for our own sake. We’re not gathering to feel better about ourselves. We’re being made into people who love the world around us well — our street, our neighbours, the person standing next to us in the supermarket queue.

It’s slow. It doesn’t happen by trying harder. It happens by walking with Jesus, together.
