Walking into somewhere new, where everyone else seems to already know each other and know what’s going on, can feel daunting. It’s a completely normal thing to feel. If you don’t know anyone, don’t let that put you off. There will be someone on hand to say hello and help you find your feet.

You Don’t Need to Know What to Do

Nobody expects you to have the words memorised, know when to sit or stand, or take communion if you’d rather not. Just follow along, or don’t, whichever feels right. Nothing here is a test.

Whatever Your Reason for Coming

People come to church for all kinds of reasons, and all of them are welcome. Some want quiet reflection. Some want to properly take part. Some come seeking prayer, or comfort, or simply somewhere to sit for a while. Some are checking a church out ahead of a wedding or a christening. Wherever you’re starting from, that’s fine.

What Actually Happens

Our main Sunday services are generally relaxed and last about an hour. You’ll find full times and locations on our Services & Prayer page. All Saints, Holy Trinity, and St Michael’s each have their own character, so it’s worth finding the one that feels right for you.

Our churches are also open outside of service times for anyone who’d simply like to sit quietly, pray, or think. There’s no need for an occasion.

Not Sure What Christians Actually Believe?

That’s a completely reasonable question, and not one you need to have answered before you come. If you’d like a short, honest place to start, our book Come and See is written for exactly that.
