David is an Hon Assistant Bishop in the Diocese (retired) and helps out across the diocese – but lives in our benefice and stands in when others are unavailable. He is a northern lad who began his working life as an academic mediaevalist before turning his collar round and serving in parish ministry for many years before becoming Bishop of Huntingdon. He continues to research and write on the Middle Ages and enjoys setting and solving difficult crosswords! He is married to Jean who is also active in the benefice and they have four children – two of whom are local (one is a Rector in the Golden Valley). In the end, people are what matter to him most in ministry, and helping them bring heaven to earth and lift earth to heaven.
