Team Talk October 2026

Jonathan reflects on a visit to St Mark’s, Gabalfa in Cardiff, his curacy church, thirteen years after leaving, and writes on hiraeth, pilgrimage, and the road we are walking together as a Team. The Venerable Derek Chedzey writes on anniversaries and what Scripture says about the attitude of heart behind our festivals, and Paul Roberts introduces himself properly as our new Team Vicar, sharing his route from planning and the Army Reserve into ordained ministry, and his love of boundaries and pilgrimage.

Elsewhere: a Service of Remembrance for anyone who has lost someone, at Holy Trinity on 15th November, the Credo course begins at Holy Trinity on 5th October, and Harvest Thanksgiving is celebrated across all three churches through October, in support of Hereford Food Bank. Revd Kina Robertshaw writes for Black History Month on honouring our communities, Jean Thomson continues her local history series, and there is a fresh plea for help with St Michael’s spire repairs. Diary dates include the Traherne Association’s Jeremy Maule Lecture on 10th October, line dancing at Breinton on the same evening, and the St Michael’s Harvest Supper on 16th October.
